I'm treasuring every single day of work I have now, even to the extent of forgoing Daytona Beach just to go to work! Someone new leaves each day, and I'm afraid I won't be around on their last day. First it's Kathy, then the missionaries, and it'll be us. Seeing your friends go is such a hard thing to do, especially when you've been used to working with them almost every day. I'll miss all the fooling around, I'll miss the hilarious ways we try to slack, I'll miss all the gossipping. This three months was really a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I had good friends from all over the world - Thailand, Philipphines, America, Spain, Haiti, Venezuela, Colombia, Poland, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong etc. I mean, seriously, I'd never thought in my life that I would be able to talk and connect with them like I would with my fellow Singaporeans.
And in Westgate, we had such freedom, being a little community of our own. We could just go out at any time of the night with no one to account to but ourselves, we had no worries about school, if we didn't feel like working we could always call in sick, we could have spontaneous parties at night and everyone would just come in an instant of a phonecall. You could do whatever you wanted, however wild, and people would maybe talk about it for a while, but then accept it. It's crazy. It's cool.
There's some kind of summer madness in the air.

There's no such thing as a hangover that's worth it.

Lifestyles of the rich and famous.
The famous South Beach is really beautiful, with powder-fine white sand and blue waters. We spent half a day there yesterday and it was way too short. It was so fun playing in the water! The waves in the ocean were so huge, the force would actually push you backwards and down onto the floor. Danny lost his tee and Jason his shades, because they were washed away.
Thereafter, we rushed back to shower in a record time of 1 hour (considering we had 5 people to a bathroom) and headed to downtown Miami for the Island Queen Cruise.
It took us around the different exclusive islands in Miami, where really really rich people stay. Like they have their own private jets, and their homes are mansions, and cost on average like 50 million USD. Lucky asses. We saw Alicia Key’s house too! Huge.
At night, the guys went to club without us because we were underaged. Dorene was right, it really feels like we’re in J1 all over again, because the legal age for clubbing in Miami is 21. Which is quite dumb because you can have sex and smoke when you’re 16, you can buy porn when you’re 18 but you can only enter clubs when you’re 21. Anyways, our night was nonetheless exciting. We cruised around town which the music thumping in our car, in search of action. And seriously, the action never stops in Miami. There was a crime or something in one of the buildings, and there were so many police cars and ambulances, with all their lights flashing just like you see on television. And then, we decided to follow some random car because we found it suspicious, and true enough, two streets down, the car just suddenly parked itself by the side of the road, and when we zoomed past, we saw a couple making out passionately. Haha! Girls' intuitons are always right.
And this morning we just watched the sunrise from the ocean. Spectacular. I’m really gonna miss this place man. Oh well. Gotta pack up and check out of the hotel now.
Byeee.

So we reached Miami after a four-hour drive today. And it’s a beautiful place, just like what you see on TV. We’re staying in Circa 39, which is just right behind Miami Beach, and it’s great! Very prettily furnished. The only problem is that it’s a little crowded, because we’re sharing the room with so many other people.
We had a delicious seafood dinner at South Beach, before heading back to our hotel to… bid for our modules -.- The NUS people were lucky because they had time to shop around South Beach for a little while at least.
Getting quite anxious for bidding. Hopefully everything goes right and the connection doesn’t screw up or something.
But other than that, I’m loving Miami! Wish I could stay here forever haha. The atmosphere here is just unbelievably chill. Everyone’s chill, probably because the beach is right beside them. When you walk on the streets, you feel like there’s nothing else in the world worth caring about.

I was positioned to sell beer again and today was pretty fun and slack! Normally, doing the beer canoe is super boring but since it's Independence Day today and the park was packed, the customers kept coming and time just flew.
The Americans here are so friendly, like they'll just come up to chat with you for fun. If you do that in Singapore, people will think you're wacky or something. My "regular" customers kept calling me "Anna, the beer lady" or "the reigning beer queen" each time they walked past. And I love the kids. They are so adorable! They kept running back and forth from their tables to my beer canoe to grab ice to eat. And everytime they'll have new stories to tell me. Argh too cute. I feel like kidnapping them haha.
