Sorry friends, I’ve been trying my best to upload the photos on facebook but the internet connection here’s too lousy. Argh. I’ll try uploading the photos onto blogger though. Or maybe I should just drag myself to Mac’s one day to upload the photos once and for all.
Anyway, I went hiking at Wekiwa Springs yesterday! We didn’t see much wildlife except for a snapping turtle but it was so fun! The entire route was 13.5 miles but we only managed to reach Sand Lake before storm clouds started gathering. We were so afraid of getting stuck in the storm because on our way, we saw countless charred trees and patches of barren land which were a result of lightning bush fires. It was a total danger zone man. So we hurried back and luckily for us, a ranger saw us and gave us a ride on his buggy. When we reached the main area of Wekiwa Springs, it didn’t rain yet though the clouds were getting darker. So we had a picnic by the lake, and then, we decided to jump in! The water was icy cold but I totally loved it. It’s completely different from swimming in the pool or sea. The wind was swaying the old giant trees, and we were surrounded by fields of grass and scampering squirrels. There were hardly any people around at that time and everything was so natural. Fengru and I was resisting the urge to skinny-dip haha!
After an hour or so, we decided that the lightning was getting too close to be safe, so we packed up and drove to the Mall at Millenia. I finally bought my SoCal perfume from Hollister. I love love love Hollister, the same reason why I love the OC. Haha. They’re connected, in a way. They pay unbelievable attention to detail at Hollister. You’ll know just by taking a look at the website. And the stores are even better. They put so much effort in the image, the lighting, the décor, the sales people, even the smell of the shop – it really takes you to another place and time. Even the paper carriers and receipts are so pretty. I think that Hollister should diversify into hotel business, they’ll definitely do well running a themed hotel.
On our way back, a patrol car pulled us over! Apparently Claire was “driving all over the road” haha. The policeman was quite scary. Thus, I have decided that I shall not drive here at all, because if a patrol car pulls me over, I think I’ll get so nervous I’ll just crash into something and die before I manage to stop the car for the police. Haha.
I’m sleepy! Think I’ll go take a nap before heading for work later. 3-1130pm again! Oh joy -.-

We had IHOP today! They're not called International House of Pancakes for nothing because their pancakes are awesome! They're buttermilk pancakes and incredibly soft. When you cut them open you can see the steam coming out, and they don't just taste of flour, they're actually tasty and you can eat them on their own. Yum. No wonder Americans are so fat. The food here is good man.
After settling stuff for our trip to St. Augustine, we then headed to Florida Mall again to shop! Spent almost a hundred just on makeup - MAC, Shisheido, and the famous NARS Orgasm Blush. I'm going back to get some Benefit stuff which I didn't have time to see.
A bunch of our friends are having a road trip to Miami this Monday and I don't know if I should drive! Because out of the five of us, three can drive but I'm the only one who brought my license! Omg I seriously don't dare, because even in Singapore I'm super accident-prone. Like I always mistake the brake for the accelerator and such. Plus it's right-hand drive here. But if I don't drive, we can't go! So I'm deliberating real hard now. Howwwww.

The morning after a party always leaves me feeling especially empty.

I suspect that housekeeping is stealing our clothes. I can’t find my work berms, Pingqi and Mei are missing their work shirts, and Dorene’s lost two of her jackets. Urgh, how annoying. And of all things, why take our work clothes? Maybe our company is in cahoots with housekeeping, because if we “lose” our clothes we have to pay them back.
Life is getting more routine these days. Everyone’s working on different days so when I’m off, I just stay at home to do chores unless I manage to find someone to go out with. My dreams are coming back now that I’ve settled in, and it’s weird that I’ve been having recurring dreams about someone whom I’ve forgotten for quite some time.
I can’t put my finger on what I’m missing.
