study session with amanda yesterday was so productive? we met in the morning and went to starbucks at liat towers. did a bit of work inside, but then we decided it was too cold inside, so being the smart asses we were, we shifted outside where the al fresco tables were.
bad bad idea.
it was torture sitting there! first, the sun came out at around noon. it was freakin' hot but never mind, we could still bear with that. next, it started raining cats and dogs! amanda and i were pathetically trying to squeeze under the little stretch of shelter there was. but, we determinedly continued to do our work, even though we had to keep wiping the table as drops of rain fell onto it. then, after the rain stopped, the pigeons came. you know the starbucks pigeons, they're so black and big, and the worse thing is that they're not scared of you! urgh. when one of them came flying to the table next to ours, i was so scared i screamed out loud and closed my eyes and ducked my head under the table. stupid pigeons. but that's not the worst. the worst are the smokers! though it's their right to smoke since it's outside, but still! i was coughing and coughing until amanda suggested we go to another place. it was so terrible. yikes.
so we went to look for another place to study in. haha and i guess it's not surprising that we went shopping instead for the next few hours. something funny happened at marks and spencers. we were at the food section when i saw this pack of oh-so-adorable gingerbread men. so i picked the packet up and went to amanda, tugging at her arm.
"mummy, mummy, look! gingerbread men!"
"err, no girl, don't want la."
"but whyyyyyyy?"
"i said no! don't want!"
"whyyyyyyyyyyy?"
"err because... ah! mummy doesn't like ginger!"
"but, but...mummy likes men!"
it may not seem that funny when i write it out like that, but it was super funny when it happened. i was totally laughing my head off. haha.
ohh in case you were wondering, we managed to do a grand total of four maths questions yesterday. but amanda came up with a quote worthy of being on the top right hand corner of the physics tutorial : "you cannot measure how productive you are based on how many questions you did. *pause* because what you have understood today is worth so much more." or something along those lines. it may not really make sense(coming from her) but it sure does sound good and justify our productivity, or rather lack thereof.
econs test tomorrow! what am i doing in front of the computer screen? should be off now.
(and amanda chua! you trying to land me in taf is it? make me eat and eat and eat! someone's on a diet somemore right?)
